| Clopidogrel is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events as follows : * Recent MI Recent stroke or Established peripheral arterial disease : Patients suffering from myocardial infarction (from a few days until less than 35 days ) ischaemic stroke ( from 7 days until less than 6 months) or established peripheral arterial disease. For patients with a history of recent myocardial infarction (MI) recent stroke or established peripheral arterial disease Clopidogrel has been shown to reduce the rate of a combined endpoint of new ischemic stroke (fatal or not) new MI (fatal or not) and other vascular death. * Acute coronary syndrome: For patients with acute coronary syndrome (Non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina/non-Q-wave MI) or ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction ) in combination with ASA in medically treated patients eligible for thrombolytic therapy and those who are to be managed with percutaneous coronary intervention (with or without stent) or CABG . Clood has been shown to decrease the rate or a combined endpoint of cardiovascular death MI stroke or refractory ischemia. |
